Bad Gift Thank You

Dear Lia,
Thank you so much for the Double Decker Bus. I thought that it reminded me of something. Anyway, I will always think of you when I look and or play with it. I will tell this story over and over again for many Christmas's to come. I thought that it was unique and that it really showed the passion and love you have for me.

Love,
Andrew

The Worst Gift Ever.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Tucked into their beds all the children lay. We all have heard that story. Every Christmas Eve my dad has read that story to me as I tucked myself into bed, and every Christmas night I would shut my eyes knowing in the morning I would wake up and run down the stairs to see a few presents under the tree with my name written on it.

This Christmas was different. I woke up with passion in my eyes. I sprinted downstairs to our gleaming 10' Christmas tree. I realized that I was the last one up and that the whole family was there waiting for me. My eyes sparked with excitement as I approached the Christmas tree.

"Is everyone ready to open up their gifts?" asked my dad.

"You bet." I said.

I saw a present under the tree that was poorly wrapped in green wrapping paper. There was scotch tape dangling off of it and it was slightly ripped in the top right corner. I glanced around and saw my sister mouthing open it to me, so I approached it slowly. Analyzing it in my hands, I slowly open it from the already ripped corner. I was aghast at what I saw. I saw one of my toys that I was in my room the last time I checked. The old London double Decker bus lay before my eyes. I glanced at my sister once again with an uncertain mien.

"What do you think about it?" my sister questioned.

"It's great." I mumbled.

This was certainly not was I wanted for Christmas.

Point Blank Book Blog

First edition cover
Book: Point Blank
Author: Anthony Horowitz
Rating 3/4 stars

 Background:

A young teenager boy named Alex Rider is recruited into MI6. MI6 assign him to go and investigate the deaths of billionaires that each have a son attending Point Blank, an academy in the French Alps. He goes there but is drugged at dinner time. He friends another student at the academy named James Sprintz. James says that the acedemy has something wrong with it because everyone who attends was rebellious and is now calm and controlled.

The components that are good about this book are a good plot, interesting, and the book and main characters are exiting. The plot is good because, the story flows together and makes sense. The author does a good job going from the MI6 training facility to the academy Point Blank. It is exiting because, it has a lot of action and you're always trying to anticipate what will happen next. The main characters are always doing ridiculous things, like taking a snowmobile off a ramp and ramming it into a helicopter and coming out alive. I thought that made this book really cool. The story is full of mystery and excitement.

The components that are bad in this book are an unrealistic characters,  and main characters don't injure. The characters (except the "bad guy") don't suffer any serious injuries, which I found really unrealistic. For example, when Alex drove the snowmobile into the helicopter, he landed fine and ran away. I also think that some of the characters are really strange and have weak backgrounds. The book doesn't go into much detail about the "bad guys" and their history. In this story the "bad guy" plastic surgeon he has no background.

You would like this book if you are a boy because the main character is a boy. You would also like it if  you like books with a lot of action in it because this book is loaded with action. You would like this book if you like a spy books becaus ethe main character is a spy. Finally, you would like reading this book because it has a series of books written by the same author that follows this book.

Andrew's Favorite Fung Shui Project

My favorite Fung Shui is Justin Green's Big Bang theory poster. It is excellent because it really shows how lucky we are to have survived and how small of a chance we had to survive. It makes me feel really good and it inspires me to do better.

Top 10 Places I would go in Western PA

1. B&B diving- This is a small privately owned quarry. My dad and I go SCUBA diving there often in the summer. I have had many fond memories there. In the summer if you go SCUBA diving there you can see little fresh water jellyfish.

2. Mount Washington- This is a very historical site. It is very nice up there. There is a statue of Washington kneeling down with a Native American.

3. Carnegie Science Center- This is another Carnegie museum. This one has lots of hands on activities and is very educational. It has Sports Works near by: a building that has lots of fun activities like a giant trampoline and a mini gulf course.

4. Lake Erie- This is one of the Great Lakes. It is very nice to go up there and just swim around. There is sand and some picnic areas. My family went there for a weekend and it was really nice.

5. Kennywood- This is an amusement park. It is famous for it's Phantoms Revenge. I have gone there many times with friends and family and I always go on the Phantom. The park is huge. You can stay there for a whole day and still manage to miss something.
6. Andy Warhol Museum- This is a museum that is located within Pittsburgh. It is a fabulous art museum. I have gone down with my family and I am absorbed at how much artwork is there. Trying to interpret what the artist is trying to portray is always fun when you hit an abstract piece.
7. Carnegie Museum of Natural History- This is a history museum that is located within the city of Pittsburgh. It is a part of the Carnegie museum chain in Pittsburgh. It has a nice dinosaur collection. I have gone there many times and have seen the dinosaurs and the architecture sections within the museum. It is very interesting and they always have a new section.

8. Frick Museum- This is a museum inside the Frick family house. The museum shows the artwork the Frick's had. It is a nice museum, not as big as the Carnegie museums but it is still very nice. I was at the Montessori I went on a field trip there and we got to admire the art work and different items they have.

9. Fips Conservatory- This is a really nice public garden. It has quite a diverse collection of exotic plants in it's different sections.

10. Heinz Hall- The Pittsburgh symphony Orchestra preforms there. They are really good. The best part is Yo Yo Ma is coming to Heinz hall on October 16th.

Is Sucker Broken forever?

Sucker has been broken forever by Pete. Pete had tormented and hurt Sucker all of his life. He would tell him to "jump off our garage with an umbrella it would act as a parachute and he wouldn't fall hard p2." This shows that Sucker really trusted Pete with his life and all that Pete is doing is breaking that trust over the years. When Sucker jumped off the garage he "busted his knee p2". Sucker really looked up to Pete as an older brother and a role model. Sucker "would look at everything I did and take it in quietly p2."Sucker really cared for Pete if something was wrong. He would ask "me why I couldn't get settled ad I'd tell him to hush his mouth p4." This shows that Pete would take Sucker's care lightly and pretend that Sucker didn't care for him.

Sucker becomes broken when Pete quietly tells him why he didn't like him. Sucker only asked Pete "why is it we aren't buddies like we were before? p10" Pete ripped Sucker up from the inside out with the words he said. Although he didn't do any physical damage, the emotional damage he did to Sucker is irreversible. He would say "because your the dumbest slob I ever saw! Nobody cares anything about you! Ad just because I felt sorry for you sometimes and tried to act decent don't think I give a damn about a dumb bunny like you!... Don't you know when your not wanted! p10" Pete hit Sucker's weak point. From that point on Sucker had "gotten up this gang of kids. p11" He would always "stare at me with that hard, half-sneering look. p12" This shows that Sucker doesn't trust Pete anymore. It also shows that Sucker is not giving Pete any respect as the older sibling. All this proves that Sucker was broken forever.

Sucker Reveiw

Sucker was an interesting article to read. I though that Pete was very emotionally unstable. He would vent all of his anger at Sucker by hitting or screaming at him. Sucker was treated a lot like how Maybelle treated Pete. If Maybelle was mean to Pete, Pete was mean to Sucker. Then when Pete exploded on Sucker in a stern yet calm voice, that was what damaged Sucker the most. Sucker began acting different from that point on. I thing that this story had lots of real life scenarios in it. It shows how delicate the sibling balance is in a family; how when a sibling is mad they take it out on the younger one.

Overview of Sucker

Sucker is about a two kids, one is named Pete and one is named Richard or Sucker. Pete picked on sucker for all of his life and in the end Pete felt guilty for what he has done to Sucker.

An Awesome Act

I did an awesome act during the weekend (8/29-8/29). I fixed my sisters toys when they were broken. She was very happy.
